Promotions & Giveaways Policy

Overview

This Promotions & Giveaways Policy applies to MineralCache promotional codes, vendor-funded promotions, platform-funded promotions, and Promo Giveaway Listings. It forms part of our Terms of Service, Vendor Terms & Listing Standards, Shipping Policy, and Returns & Refunds Policy.

Promotional codes may be limited by item, vendor, customer, order value, usage count, expiration date, destination, account status, or other marketplace rules shown or enforced by MineralCache.
Promotional codes have no cash value, are not redeemable for cash, and may not be sold, transferred, copied, manipulated, or used for unauthorized purposes.
MineralCache may reject, disable, revoke, adjust, or cancel a promotion, order, discount, or code if we identify fraud, abuse, technical error, listing error, inventory issue, policy violation, legal concern, or marketplace-integrity risk.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, promotions apply only through MineralCache checkout and do not apply to off-platform transactions, prior purchases, vendor payouts outside the promotion flow, shipping carrier charges outside checkout, duties, import fees, or taxes not collected by MineralCache.

A Promo Giveaway Listing is a MineralCache checkout feature that can reserve a specific buy-now listing for a winner or eligible claimant who enters the required winning promo code.
If a buyer attempts to check out with a restricted giveaway item without the required code, MineralCache may block checkout until the correct code is applied.
When a valid giveaway promo code is applied, the covered giveaway item may be discounted to $0 and MineralCache may waive checkout-calculated shipping and tax for that covered giveaway item.
Paid items added to the same cart remain subject to normal item price, shipping, tax, payment, order, return, and fulfillment rules.
A giveaway promo code does not guarantee that an item will remain available if the listing, vendor account, buyer account, destination, inventory, or promotion becomes unavailable before checkout is completed.

If a cart contains only a valid giveaway-covered item and the order total is $0, MineralCache may create a confirmed order without collecting a Stripe payment for that order.
If a cart contains both a giveaway-covered item and paid items, MineralCache may process payment for the paid portion of the order while applying the giveaway discount only to the covered giveaway item.
Buyers must still be signed in and provide accurate shipping information before claiming a giveaway order.
Confirmed giveaway orders are still marketplace orders and may appear in buyer orders, vendor orders, receipts, fulfillment workflows, and reporting with giveaway-specific payment language.

MineralCache giveaway promo codes are a claim and checkout mechanism. They are not, by themselves, complete official rules for any contest, sweepstakes, drawing, or promotion unless MineralCache expressly provides separate official rules.
The person or business sponsoring a giveaway is responsible for eligibility rules, entry method, prize description, approximate retail value, timing, winner selection, winner notification, required disclosures, taxes, and compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and platform rules.
Where applicable law requires it, giveaways, sweepstakes, and similar promotions must not require a purchase to enter or win, and a purchase must not be represented as improving the chance of winning.
Giveaway sponsors must not use deceptive, misleading, unfair, unlawful, or incomplete promotional statements, and must clearly disclose material terms before collecting entries or announcing winners.
Promotions are void where prohibited or restricted by law.

Vendors and giveaway sponsors must accurately describe the giveaway item, including title, photos, condition, size, material, locality when known, quantity, listed value, and any material limitations.
Vendors must keep giveaway item inventory available after creating a Promo Giveaway Listing and must promptly disable or update a promotion if the item is no longer available.
Vendors must fulfill confirmed giveaway orders through MineralCache order and shipping workflows unless MineralCache cancels the order or provides different written instructions.
Vendors and sponsors may not use giveaways to evade fees, manipulate marketplace activity, mislead users, collect unauthorized data, require off-platform payment, or pressure users into off-platform transactions.
MineralCache may require evidence that a giveaway was conducted fairly and lawfully, including proof of winner selection, winner notification, eligibility, and item availability.

MineralCache may cancel, hold, restrict, or review a giveaway promotion, code, listing, checkout, or order if the item is unavailable, the code is misused, the winner cannot be verified, the destination is unsupported, the promotion appears unlawful, or the transaction creates fraud, safety, compliance, or marketplace-integrity concerns.
Sharing, guessing, scraping, selling, or using a restricted giveaway code without authorization may result in order cancellation, promotion restriction, account limits, or other enforcement action.
If a giveaway item cannot be fulfilled, MineralCache may cancel the order or offer an appropriate resolution such as replacement, store credit, a new code, or another remedy at MineralCache's discretion and as required by applicable law.

Giveaway orders are subject to the Returns & Refunds Policy, but a $0 giveaway item generally does not create a cash refund for the item price because no item payment was collected.
If a giveaway item arrives damaged, is materially misrepresented, is unavailable, or cannot be delivered, MineralCache may review the issue and provide an appropriate non-cash or order-based resolution where appropriate.
Paid items purchased in the same cart remain subject to the normal Returns & Refunds Policy for the paid portion of the order.
